With a repertoire ranging from traditional Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole styles, to the modern Latin rhythms of today, Corner Pocket’s music can fit all occasions from a casual dinning listening audience to a high energy dance atmosphere.

In addition to offering a wide range of jazz and musical styles, Corner Pocket’s lineup of musicians is one of talent and experience. The band’s creator and leader, Ryan McCullough (Saxophones/Clarinet), is a graduate from the University of North Texas with a degree in Business/Marketing. He has performed domestically as well as internationally sinking his R&B roots into the saxophone by performing with W.C.Handy Award Winning blues guitarist Anson Funderburgh, Blue Loon Recording artists the Solid Senders, various UNT Lab Bands and currently performs with his own Trio.

One of the many strengths of Corner Pocket is the hard swinging rhythm section lead by Bassist Lynn Seaton. Through Lynn’s career, he has performed with Woody Herman, the Grammy Award Winning Count Basie Band, and extensive tours with Tony Bennet and George Shearing just to name a few. He has performed in 49 of the 50 states, 35 foreign countries and has appeared on over 100 recordings. Lynn is sought out for clinics, performances and workshops all over the world and currently is a faculty member at the University of North Texas.

Joining Lynn in the rhythm section is Dallas’ own Andrew Griffith (Drums) and Clark Erickson (Piano/Hammond B-3 Organ). Andrew currently holds a degree in Jazz Studies from UNT and has performed with such greats as Wynton Marsalis, Red Holloway and Joey DeFrancesco. Clarke is also a graduate from UNT earning both a Bachelor and Master Degrees in Jazz Studies. Clarke has performed with many groups throughout his career and has been a featured pianist for such artists as Maynard Ferguson and Diane Schuur.

Accompanying the band with her smooth, expressive style is Lead Female Vocalist Meredith McCoy. Coupled with an aggressive acting and modeling career, Meredith has been singing professionally in front of audiences since the age of eighteen. Influenced by singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Horn and Diane Schuur, Meredith draws listeners in with her musical approach to lyrics and connection with the audience.

Finishing up the personnel of Corner Pocket is Volker Ruckgaber (Trombone). Originally from Germany, Volker moved to the United States to pursue a career in jazz performance. He has since graduated from UNT with a degree in Jazz Studies and currently maintains an aggressive teaching and performance schedule.
Corner Pocket’s 2nd CD, On Cue, is now available. Produced by Ryan McCullough, it features arrangements from well-known composer/arranger Scott Covey and Lynn Seaton.
