Dallas based Hot House Jazz is an acoustic jazz combo performing improvisations of 1930’s/40’s era gypsy jazz, and classic jazz standards.  The jazz clarinet, guitar, vibe combo recreates the sounds of Django Reinhardt, Benny Goodman and Lionel Hampton make Hot House Jazz a unique jazz original.

Hot House Jazz enriches the public’s understanding and appreciation of jazz and its development within the context of American history. The combo size varies from 2-7 pieces to match the original size of the jazz settings.
The Dallas jazz combo interprets and improvises rare, familiar and new jazz classics from the premier leaders of pioneer Jazz Combos – Ellington, Goodman, Gershwin, Django Reinhardt and major contributors to the jazz legacy – Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Stan Getz, Antonio Carlos Joabim, Dizzy Gillespie, and Sidney Bechet.

The combo also delivers jazz outreach activities. Theme performances selectively available through 2003 include the Hot House Jazz salute to a Django Rienhart and Sidney Bechet: “Pioneers of Jazz”; “Benny Goodman – a jazz clarinet retrospective”; “Latin Jazz Revolution – The evolution of the jazz combo since the swing era”; and “The Genius of Thelonius Monk”.  Private and public performances can be arranged.
