When The Hotel Palomar Dallas opened it’s doors to over 1000 excited Dallasites in THE hotel grand opening of the year and certainly one of the most lauded events of it’s kind in Dallas History.

Art Of Design
The building which hosts the Hotel Palomar is of considerable historic value to Dallas.  The architectural design was conceived by acclaimed architect Ralph Kelman in the 1960’s and at the time was the largest Hilton in the world, the hotel has a fervent history with the popular world landmark restaurant, Trader Vic’s, and housing Bob Hope’s penthouse.
The Palomar flaunts this modern architectural style with sophisticated furnishings and distinctive artful accents.   In order to showcase this architectural design, draw attention to the hotel and to the event, centerpiece performances featuring acrobats suspended from the roof top took place on 2 faces of the exterior of the building.  Dramatically lit, these artists were suspended from rigging and dangled on the sides of the hotel in graceful, death defying and amazingly choreographed performances backed by specially chosen symphonic musical pieces.  These performances took place on a staggered schedule during the event and were a major part of the event’s huge success.
A prominent area luxury car dealership was a major sponsor of this event.  To add to the “Art Of Design,” several high end luxury cars such as: Maserati, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Porsche, Mercedes and Lexus vehicles were displayed throughout a lounge created outside the main Porte Cachere of the hotel.  To highlight these vehicles and draw media attention to the event’s sponsor, a circular load bearing stage was constructed with a 30’ tall truss structure suspended over it.  This stage featured a new red convertible Porsche 911 with a black interior; the stage was skirted in red and topped with black carpet.  From the overhead truss structure, 3 aerialists dangled in matching red and black costumes in performances scheduled in between those of the acrobats rappelling and cavorting on the face of the buildings.
Music and lighting effects wrapped the senses for each of these performance areas.  This created a non-stop visual performance experience on and in front of the hotel throughout the event.

Art Of Inspiration
In the hotel entry as guests were arriving they were greeted by cutting edge choreographed dance with modern flair by the Dallas Black Dance Theater.  Customized dance performances were featured in the registration lobby.  20 dancers clad in costumes that mimicked the palette found in the hotel’s décor scheme cavorted gracefully to the delight of guests entering the hotel.  Partnering with the Brooke Berman Art Gallery for this event was essential.   In the Pool and Loggia area artists from the Brooke Berman Gallery sat poolside creating works of art as guests lounged and music was provided by an eclectic string ensemble featuring European Chamber music.

Art Of Fashion
Situated in the high fashion district of Dallas, this hotel is geared towards this prosperous area demographic and Dallas’ tradition of luxury lifestyles.    A special character was created to tout the hip chic nature of the hotel- her moniker- Porsche Palomar!   Blonde, beautiful, always clad in yellow this diva of modern living delivered VIP invitations, press releases and made personal appearances at all of the society events of the season as she drove around Dallas in her yellow Porsche 911 to promote the upcoming Grand Opening.   On site Ms. Palomar, in a bright yellow gown that seemed to embrace the centerpiece staircase was poised with her purse sized Palomar puppy.
Porsche welcomed everyone to the new hotel and reminded them that the Palomar is the most pet friendly hotel in town!  The hotel’s main ballroom became the center of attention with a white topped runway stage.  High Fashion from Stanley Korshak and Haute Couture Jazz Stylings from International Chanteuse “Morganne” were the perfect combination for satisfying the high fashion sense demanded by the Dallasites in attendance.   2 fashion shows of the latest day and evening couture were interspersed with performances by Morganne.  Morganne’s fashion look also changed with each set in a rainbow of couture colors.
In between the fashion show and Morganne’s performances the Dallas Black Dance Theater dancers made the runway their own with dazzling dance routines.  The high fashion experience turned in to a chic night club with the hotel DJ spinnin’ and the runway turned into a fun packed dance floor as guests and entertainers danced in to the night.    Press commentaries agreed “who could resist sitting down for a few minutes to watch gorgeous models strut down the catwalk.”

Art of Dining
Signature dishes and cocktails were the featured element here while the movies “Roman Holiday” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” were projected on the enclosed courtyard side wall, visible only in the Bar’s cushy courtyard.

Art Of Transformation
This Palette Area was experienced in the spa – spa services were the star attraction as guests received massages aromatherapy and specialty teas.

Art Of Relaxation
The luxuriously appointed hotel rooms are designed for the epitome of relaxation.  The hotel’s signature animal print robes were worn by models with zebra print painted faces that facilitated guest room and hotel tours.
