Vanessa began her professional guitar training at Collin College on a music scholarship in 2001, where she studied under Sabine Madriguera. She then transferred to Southern Methodist University, where she completed her Bachelor of Music, cum laude, and Master of Music, magna cum laude, in Guitar Performance on music scholarships, studying under Robert Guthrie.
Vanessa has performed in several master classes and has won prizes competing in guitar competitions. She frequently performs for events such as weddings, dinner parties, and business luncheons. Vanessa has also performed in a variety of venues including banquets, coffee shops, the Richardson Wildflower Festival, and even a pub in Cornwall, England.
Vanessa has been teaching privately in Allen, Texas since 2002, and teaches at Collin College as adjunct music faculty.
