The Comedy Magic & Illusion Show: This is the show when you want to pull out all of the stops.
This show is designed for a large stage and includes a dancer/assistant, stage technician and a handful of large illusions interspersed with comedy effects. Most of C.J.’s larger illusions even have a comic twist to them, something that not many performers can pull off.
When magicians refer to “Illusions” they typically mean larger magic effects that involve a person, large animal or larger item. Illusions in magic = BIG.
People often think of “magicians” as a commodity. That like a can of corn, they’re all pretty much the same. Nothing could be further from the truth. There’s a saying in magic that the difference between an amateur and a professional is about 500 shows. Nothing can give an act polish and professionalism like experience can. Put C.J.’s experience of 20 years of performing and many thousands of shows to work for you.
No matter what your event CJ has probably performed in a similar situation. 25+ years of experience (hey… he started YOUNG) have given CJ experience in just about every situation from strolling magic in high end restaurants, to festivals, casinos, theaters, colleges and just about every conceivable situation. Some he’s perfect for, some… not so much. The difference between C.J. and others is he’ll tell you when he’s not right for your event. This means you’ll ONLY see C.J. when he can be his best!
Many people argue that the most magical moments happen one on one with a performer. When you’re looking for magic in a more intimate environment such as a cocktail party, hospitality suite, trade show or dinner this is the style of magic you’re seeking.
Close up magic takes place within inches of the audience, or in their hands, making it, arguably, the most powerful type of magic. Typically done with cards, coins, rubber bands and other ordinary objects this is a highly mobile act that can run from 2 minutes to 30 minutes. Generally C.J. is booked for a 2 or 3 hour block of time during a dinner or occasionally at a trade show.
One thing is for sure, no one will confuse the effects performed by C.J. with those done by “Uncle Fred” at the family reunion. C.J. carefully selects material that is both astonishing and entertaining, but most importantly, he chooses material that is fun and in character with his fun loving spirit. Your guests will have FUN and be amazed.
Close up is an excellent (and inexpensive) addition to any evening stage magic show or hypnosis show and is a great way to let people know what to expect later in the evening.
