The TEXAS UNLIMITED BAND (aka TUB) formed in the early 1980’s, made up of five local kids, started out by playing on beat-up equipment and practiced in an old farm house outside the community of Dime Box, Texas. The first years of the band were spent playing two or three nights a month for weddings and private parties. The occasional dance hall gig left the band mostly entertaining themselves and a few family and friends. The band spent time watching the “what was then” popular local bands in the area, like Texas Pride-Chance, The Drifters and The Good Vibrations to observe how they made it work.
After years of trying to break into the local dance hall circuit, the band was finally booked at two popular dance halls in the area. Within six months TUB started developing a following and was being requested at other venues along with fairs and festivals. Then came the “BIG GIG”… .opening up for George Strait at the Milam County Fair. As word of mouth spread about the band, gigs were coming in from Houston and Austin and the band was now performing three and four nights a week.
Over the years Texas Unlimited’s popularity has exploded taking it to a new level, breaking attendance records all over Texas.
