Jazz Ensembles | Dallas
The Gene Glover Jazz Ensemble is a premier choice for live jazz in Dallas, built from some of the city’s most renowned players. Acclaimed drummer Gene Glover leads from behind the kit, and the group delivers smooth, sophisticated instrumental jazz that suits an intimate cocktail hour and a large scale event equally well.
Trio to Big Band
The ensemble scales to the room and the budget, from a classic jazz trio to a full big band.
The book covers the rich history of jazz: swing and bebop, bossa nova, and contemporary jazz. That range means the set can be mellow background through a reception and then lift into something livelier once the room fills, without ever feeling like a different band.
These are among the most sought after musicians on the Dallas jazz scene. Their skill and their obvious enthusiasm for the material create a dynamic, engaging performance, and Gene Glover’s leadership keeps rhythm, melody and improvisation in balance all night.
